If you open the document feeder when you turn it on, do you see the scanner mirror moving or the exposure lamp turning on?
Machine runs on 110/ 220 down to 24 volts.

My guess if only fan works, could be a bad main or power board.

Machine is as good as dead. No mirror movements, no exposure lamp. When I checked the power board output is giving 24v,3.9v,5.1v etc

Any previous error code on the display?

Might be a display panel or RAM DIMM?
As a test, try another HDD., see if the machine gets POST and the display comes on.

Remove covers and use a flashlight to see the wiring and boards inside, in the past I've seen chewed cables and mice pee-damaged boards, if it's your case not worth a repair, too much work, too much money and too much risk to your health...just a little advice.

firmware on this machine was tricky needed to use CF card, and small size 128 card large cards did not work and some brands worked some did not. Usually was it was the copier with the fax boards on them that we would see it , always had fingers crossed on on update until company got the Buffalo brand cards recommend by Mita

If it has a fax,did you disconnect it.( all the boards)? If I remember correctly a malfunctioning fax will cause this..

I was just preparing to ask: what did you do just before it died? Maybe installed a fax board?

On one machine I bought a used fax board from Wulff Enterprises. The gentleman that removed the ribbon cables did not release them, just pulled them out. When I installed it the machine did some crazy stuff, then nothing at all. I'll cut/paste in the Excel record later. I eventually noticed that 4 of the conductors had peeled back from the ribbon cable, connecting poorly. I got extraordinarily lucky, and was able to trim off 1.5mm of the end of the ribbon and got it to connect properly. =^..^=

Can't access service mode. Can't download fax firmware. Can't access Fax Defaults in the System Menu (only the double beep). Can't access Fax Reports tab in the Fax screen (button grayed out). "Cover Open" indication when no covers are open. "Please Wait. Cannot be combined." when attempting to fax out. Ribbon cable from the fax control PWB to the main control PWB is damaged by removing the cable without releasing the clasp. Trim off the damaged end, or replace the ribbon cable (3CM27010).
