    DP 7110, TA 4002I

    DP 7110 -- completely dead no lift... not even the green light comes on when paper is in the machine...
    TA 4002I -- works perfectly with another DP 7110

    DP 7110 -- whats been tried
    906 reset
    firmware
    adf board replacement
    flat ribbon cable that feeds from adf to copier replaced
    completely blown free of dust... didn't work before didn't work after...
    jiggled the adf roller that feeds... no response
    unplugged the secondary ccd... then 203 and 244 appeared... before that no service mode for adf was visible...
    removed the top cover... checked for obstruction no change...
    swapped the sensor that detects the paper and triggers the green light in the liftgate
    removed that whole section that the paperfeed kit sits in not just the kit and rollers the black plastic with two sensors in it... replaced sensors....

    does anyone know if there is a bulletin about this???
    has anyone faced this issue before on this model???

    as always any help on this matter is appreciated...

      Firstly I have not seen this particular issue on this model.

      But in general, when an accessory is completely utterly dead, the cause is usually not the accessory, it's the copier main board.

      Do you have another DP to try on it? I would expect that any DP placed on this machine will not work. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Task alfa 4002I -- works perfectly with another DP 7110
          We narrowed it down to the adf... dp...
          customer is up and running but this dp seems to have an issue...
          figured its a short somewhere or maybe something stupid simple that I am missing...

              The next thing to do is disconnect all the connectors from the DP controller. Connect only the dc power in and the ground connection. Power ON. Do you see U203, U244? If yes, wonderful!

              Next power OFF. Plug in one more connector, power ON. Still see U203, U244? Wonderful! Repeat until you lose those simulations. Now you know what connector has the short.

              Next look in the DP-7110 circuit diagram to see what's on that connector. You should be able to meter out several of the items on the suspect connector, like solenoids, motors, etc. Check resistance across the load and resistance to ground. It's a relatively common issue to find a solenoid or clutch shorting to ground. If, for some reason you cannot narrow it down further, start replacing the components coming in through that connector.

                      I just had the exact same issue. The problem was a bad wiring harness. Changed harness, problem fixed.

                          Just completed a call on the identical problem. Turned out being the SHD PWB assy attached to the CIS. And it blew the fuse YF1 (4A DC48v) on the ADF pwb (look next to connector by the NVRAM socket).
                          You can check for a dead short on the SHD board by looking at YC2 pins 3+4. if these dead short to ground the the board is bad. These are 24V lines.
                          We replaced the SHD pwb and also the ADf Pwb. All is well.
