Long time owner/leasor of about 6 of the taskalfa series.
Just picked up a working 4550ci for $350 with the finisher and PF740 cassette 3/4.
Unfortunately, wasn't able to do it wrapped with a liftgate (long drive), and
separated the top from PF740 to bring it back upright in vehicle.
Back in the office, managed to crunch the plastic part poking up from the deck
of the PF740 that the paper feeds through when reassembling (2 of the 4
people helping didn't speak english). This of course results in jams when feeding from
cassette 3/4 (rest of copier works fine).
I've gone through 4550 service manual, parts manual and the PF740 service manual and parts manual.
That piece doesn't show on many of the diagrams for assembly or pictures.
After first thinking it was the vertical conveyor or primary feeder, I think now the part
number is 303NF94010 middle roller unit.
1) can someone confirm this is the right part. Any good sources for parts...
2) what is the best way to mate these 2? I'm thinking maybe put some
spacers on top, align, and then gradually remove until the copier is on top.
Is it possible to fit that part in after assembling by removing some of the vertical
conveyor assembly stuff?
thanks,
allan
