255c front door won't stay shut

Anyone seen this and have a remedy. The flap over the drum/dv units & the upper flap over the top of that seem to lock into position.
They are pretty springy, but i can't see anything broken/missing/damaged. The cover switch is in the upper center of the door and will run if pushed or taped.
I've reseated all drum & DV units. Any ideas are appreciated.
    Hope that helps !

I've done this to myself a couple of times: On the upper section you latch the right but the left isn't quite latched. You can close the door and it closes. After about 20 pages the door pops open all by itself. The vibration is enough. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I went back & checked eveything closely, but could not get the switch to stay made. I ended up pulling off the whole front gray section. Under that, I found the cover switch had some play. I made a shim to go behind it, to keep the switch pushed forward. I also went ahead & put the new front gray frame cover on, since it's a lot of work to get to. Never had a problem after I got it back together. I'm guessing it was the switch, but not 100% positive.
      Hope that helps !

Yeah, it's not much fun getting the front apart. Good idea doing the new inner front cover at the same time. =^..^=

I've seen this a few times. The door wouldn't physically come open, but it would think the door was open.

If this problem happens to come back for you, I know there are two different styles of sensor flags for these models. One has rounded corners and the other does not. I've had to swap out this part at a few places due to the problem you're describing. The one without the rounded corners is the one that should be used.

These are from a B/W model but should be close enough if not identical to illistrate what I'm talking about:

For me, front door not staying shut was because the door had a slight bow in it due to heat and wear. And when I got it to stay shut, the actuator was barely engaging the interlock switch so it would intermittently indicate "front door open". I made the actuator on the front door longer by scrap plastic and epoxy. Its been good to go ever since.
