Maybe a dumb question but I'm no IT guy. Customer is asking if there are PCL 5 drivers for the CS 3511i in order for it to work with some older management software that they have. I don't see specifically PCL 5 drivers on the download center of the Copystar website. Anyone know if they exist or if the universal driver would be a good alternative?

Like CWP said, install the KX driver, go into properties & click the PCLXL or PDL and change it to PCL5e.Comment

Re: PCL 5 DRIVERS FOR CS 3511i ???
The universal drivers would be your best bet. If they're specifically looking for PCL5, you might have better luck finding a PCL5 driver for a HP 4si, then pointing that driver to the CS 5311i. It won't have extra features, like a finisher or extra trays, but at least it should output prints.
"Why won't my CS-C4035 print in color?"
"Where did the booklet function go?"
"Why won't it take paper from tray #3?"
"Where are the job accounting settings?"
I don't mind it for some temporary testing, but you can very easily end up with a 2500 page PostScript error printoff, one line per page, flowers smilies hearts ...
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: PCL 5 DRIVERS FOR CS 3511i ???
Thanks for that advice Black Cat. One more question. I downloaded the KX drivers but can't find where you change the driver emulation anywhere. Tried looking in properties also. Do I need to actually be connected/add the copier to see this? I don't have a kyocera/copystar to add on my network, only Ricoh's.Comment

Yes, after its loaded. In properties ... maybe Advanced? I don't remember. =^..^=Last edited by blackcat4866; 01-22-2020, 07:04 PM.If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Bottom left corner of preferences has a box to select emulation on a job basis or you can set it as a default. Look for the image of the MFP.Comment

You wouldn't believe how many calls I've done because of HP LJ4 drivers:
"Why won't my CS-C4035 print in color?"
"Where did the booklet function go?"
"Why won't it take paper from tray #3?"
"Where are the job accounting settings?"

Re: PCL 5 DRIVERS FOR CS 3511i ???
Hi guys, so I installed an off lease CS-3511i yesterday and the customer's IT guy cannot login to the machine. I had him try 3500/3500, Admin/Admin and admin00. Are we using the wrong info. or I'm thinking because it's a used machine that previous owner changed the default password. I have seen some posts about entering prescribe commands but I am not familiar with this as I usually am dealing with Ricohs.
Short of performing a memory clear in service mode and re-entering all settings, is there an easier way? Or, are we just using the wrong login info?
ThanksComment

Re: PCL 5 DRIVERS FOR CS 3511i ???
Yes, those are correct (3500/3500).
The PreScribe scripts are the best way to deal with this. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
