    [CQ] TA 4551ci Magenta Background

Hello, This machine has been running great for a month after my selling it to the customer. Out of the "clear blue sky" it started doing this... (see attached)IMG_2043.JPG Puts a red background on copies or prints intermittently. It produces great copies when it is not doing it. Any help would be very appreciated

    I think that's "magenta". =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks so much !! I was wondering if it was something like that... Is there anything I can do to prevent the arcing. I have about 30 of these machines in the field... Kinda freaked me out when it came up...

First, swap the charge roller from another drum unit to another, to see if the problem follows the roller. If it does you have your answer, if not could be something else. Make sure you have the updated charge rollers (MC-8705) as these do last much longer and do not get the bumps as much on them, which will cause " the charge roller arc." I would also recommend at every service call, clean the charge rollers as a pm to avoid any lines, etc.

developer bias HV problems also look like this. don't forget to check on the DV HV contacts, pathways, and debris.

I ended up putting another DV and Image unit in it with brand new charge roller and so far so good. Thanks so much for your response !!
