    [Misc] Scanning to PDF issue

Hi all, just want to see if anyone has seen an issue when the user scans via smb to share drive there are occasions when they open up the file with Adobe the file is corrupted as in it produces blank pages, however if they open it up in Firefox it shows up fine. We have noticed this on 2 different kyocera copiers (TA2551ci and a M8124cidn) at customers site , we have updated to latest adobe reader, local machine is windows 7, smb scanning to server , multiple folders setup. Any help appreciated

I had this happen with a samsung machine a couple of weeks ago... I suspect it to be an Acrobat error.

If you can open the files ok in FoxIt then you've ruled out the copier being the issue.

However I would update the firmware to the latest levels just to cover all bases.

This is probably not applicable, but I'll throw this in anyway:

I had a Toshiba eS350 I think, that was scanning to SMB. The resulting file size was always 0KB. The file would not open in any PDF application. The share folder was on some ancient file server and had not been changed in any way in at least 10 years. I tried to change the share properties on the folder, and they would not change. I tried to delete documents from the share folder, they would not delete.

As an experiment I created a new share folder and template. Scanning worked perfectly. So I tried to delete the old folder ... it would not delete or change in any way. I believe that the share folder was written to a sector of the HDD that had gone bad.=^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I would try to setup scan to SMB on different machine(PC), ie my laptop. If it works this way that would rule out 100% Kyocera.
