    kyocera 5501i technician questions

    i have kyocera 5501i and 4501i
the 5501i have body problem with paper jam
the 4501i controller damage and no engine board
i decided to fix the 4501i with the 5501i boards so i can use it
    after researching its same parts
so i move the main controller board and hdd and the engine boards to the 4501i
the copier up with c180 serial number error ok i fix that with u004
    the question !!!
i tchange the main board with eeprom and the engine board with eeproom so the boards is with the same serial number and 55 speed
why when i move the boards to the 4501 the copier ask to fix the serial and the speed go down to 45
i think kyocera backup the the information on another board so any one no what to replace to boot the copier with the main board and engine board serial and speed so i will have 55 speed not 45 ??

The Eeproms all ways stay with the machine. Strange things happens when you switch machine eeproms. You should switch one board at a time.

yes i replace the boards at the same time
so the machine must go up with the 5501 speed and serial number
but that did not happen the machine restor the origenal serial and speed

Maybe you're just curious and I respect that, but I mean the difference in speed doesn't matter. Both are plenty fast and you got it up and running. Cheers.

its not about curious but i think if the serial and the speed is already saved in the engine and the main board that's mean the copier must go up with this information like the speed and the new serial number and the counter

You want`s to repair 45ppm system with 55pm parts, this is no problem.
But if you want`s to upgrade the speed from 45ppm to 55ppm it s not allowed and would prevented from KYO.
You forgot the hidden "brain" from the system!
It`s a very small pwb with ALL needed system- and confidential data.
SN, speed, counters and so on.
You can`t find it in any descriptions, but it`s still present.
What do you think why we are having U935?
            What`s behind C0060?
If you get C0060 you has to ask KYO for new "relay pwb".
This pwb would prepaired from KDC Osaka only, it is no available separate sparepart.
