Kyocera 4501i Non Genuine Toner message on status page with OEM toner installed

Ok so we have this machine that has a new maintenance kit in it, brand new toner and latest version of firmware in it. The machine has the non genuine toner message on the status page only and no toner gauge. We tried another brand new OEM toner with the same result. Any ideas on where to look to get this machine to recognize OEM toners?

Has the machine been working OK. Is it one you just took over, if so maybe it was set to use different toner? Do not know how to do this but I think I have seen something about this before posted here.

That is a good thought, we did just take it over so I don't know if it was doing this before or not. I can look into the simulation for toner designation and see if it is set to something else.

I think you run Sim U969 and view the setting for the Toner area code.

Just to update this the engine board fixed the issue with this machine.
