    A4 drums DK-5140

Whatever "fix" they did for the dash marks seems to have made the problem worse. I have one client going through a drum every few weeks. And they are currently backordered. Any one else having trouble?

Are you using the DK-5140A drum?

    Part number 302NR93180

We haven't had any issues after changing over to those for the K drum.

I am also having issues with the new drum to the tune of 1 ever 2-3 weeks in 1 machine. Very frustration, lost 1 client over this already

I have gotten the best results from shortening up the sleep timer. I believe that due to the proximity of the black drum and fuser, that area of the black drum gets too hot sitting idle, and the toner fuses to the drum surface.

The wait time is negligible really. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

No I don't believe we know about this. Thanks.

Because of the received informations by Bulletin 2NR-0049 (I175)
            • Print volume is high
            • Repeat the continuous high volume print job
            • Repeat the job in a short interval
            • Depending on the above usage condition or the usage environment, machine inside temperature becomes high

We asked KDC to add additional service point U059, (to get same possibilty as on A3 systems, e.g. TASKalfa 2552ci...)
If systems working under the conditions above, we are able to increase the cooling
But they won`t implement this funtionallity in new engine FW at the moment.
Additionally we asked for new FW to prevent usage from this drum on color position--> same result

Sometimes i don`t understand the japanese engineers.

Maybe one of you or your company could ask your KYO tech for the same and it will help.

I tried to find the bulletin number but can't put my hands on it right now. It essentially said to use the DK-5140A for the black drum and the DK-5140 for color.

Only issue is when I put in the part number for the DK-5140A for a warranty claim, the form won't let me because it claims that's not a part number for a drum.

You have to contact Kyocera Parts Department to have the warranty processed.

Dk-5140(A) will not reach the expected lifetime from 200K anymore...
Only 150K-170K...but if you install it on color position ?????(no experience, but expected lifetime will decrease dramatically and you`ll get background at both DK edges instead of drum dash marks)

Any new updates on these drum dash marks?
Every time I put an order in for the DK-5140A 302NR93180 I just keep receiving a "normal" DK-5140 302NR93014

In some cases ours don't last 2 months before they get the dashes back.

can this get better by using maximum power saving so that the heat inside the device near the black drum is minimized?
What are the power save(timer) settings that are used in your environment?

                              Definitely YES.

Set your energy save settings to 5 minutes or less, or even better: Silent Mode.

It's the only real long term solution. =^..^=
