[Error Code] Kyocera 3655

Have an unusual issue that hopefully someone may have input.
This 3655 is getting intermittant codes of F63F and F244.
Mostly F244
They state that it happens only during scanning.
The unusual part is that when it codes, the adf, control panel and buttons become inoperable
but with the code showing in the display, they can still send print jobs without issue.
Unplugging the printer for a couple seconds will bring everything back to normal until the next time.
Tech support had no definitive input, so reaching out here.

An error is detected at the System management section. DDR2 memory check. A certain part of the memory may be faulty. The frequency of failure occurrence is dependent on the frequency of access to the faulty bit. The ASIC may be faulty if the memory is not.


Before I started replacing any parts, I'd try a couple things first:
I'd print via crossover from my laptops (likely successfully).
I'd put a simple switch inline with the printer cable.
I'd try changing the IP address.

Many of the CFxxx codes are the result of corrupt print data or wrong print data. It could be a wrong driver, or some device sending non-print data to the printers IP address.

Changing the IP address helps because then nobody can print at first.
If you still get errors you know it's not a print driver (because the print drivers are still sending to the old IP address).
If you no longer get errors, each enduser will need to get the IP changed in their driver. As you change the IPs, send some test pages. Then you'll know who's sending the corrupt data, maybe from a wrong driver.

Solution: Upgrade firmware. If current try the following:

You can try going to the FRPO commands on the command line:

Using FRPO commands for reprogramming the firmware.
The current settings of the FRPO parameters are listed as the optional values on the service status page.
The FRPO command is sent to the printer in the following sequence:


!R! FRPO parameter, value; EXIT;
Example: Changing emulation mode to PC-PR201/65A
!R! FRPO P1, 6; EXIT;

FRPO parameters Note:
Before changing any FRPO parameters, print out a service status page, so you will know the
parametervalues before the changes are made. To return FRPO parameters to their factory default values,
send the FRPO INIT (FRPO-INITialize) command.


Try changing Y0 to ON.

Auto error clear at an error Y0 0��OFF, 1��ON Default 0 (OFF)
Auto error clear timeout time Y1 Value in units of 5 seconds (0 to 99). 6On some you can go into the Web Interface and go to Device Setting and System and turn on the Auto Error Clear.

On other models you go into the Web Interface and go to Security Setting and Error Setting and turn on Auto Error Clear. (may need to input the code, have not viewed this model yet).

F244-error in system initialization process in ESU enviroment
ESU= energy saving enviroment

Maybe U346 change from more energy save to less energy save can be helpfull
Now you get additional value setting in energy saver mode at command center CCRX ---> quick recovery mode now selectable

Never seen a "locked up" machine that still does print jobs without issue.

Still monitoring.. Keep in mind, there are no printing issues.. Starting to lean toward scanning only

Following this thread because we have 3 machines of this model in 3 different locations (same company) all with F63f error in the event log.

A quick update...Going to this machine today to look at event log..
Lo and behold, went to another 3655 today. It is having the EXACT same symptoms as the one we are discussing here.
A few F63F codes but mostly F244.
Customer says only when scanning.
I,m in neck deep now, so a solution can't be too far away. Will definetly post solution.

SOLVED...
3 m3665 printers..all exactly codes the same
SIM 021. Then reinstall with 917 USB.
2 days, no codes..
