BSOD when printing to Kyocera from Win 10

Just a quick heads up to all you techs out there.

Windows 10 KB5000802 (March 2021 update) has been going seriously wrong for some PC owners in the last twelve hours, with several users reporting that the botched update is causing Blue Screen of Death errors when they use printers. To make matters worse, KB5000802 is an automatic security update, which means it has been downloaded […]

Reports of printer failures include Kyocera, Ricoh, Zebra, and others.

For those on Windows 10 version 1909, a similar issue is experienced after Windows 10 KB5000808.
    Windows 10 KB5000802 causes win32kfull.sys BSOD

On Reddit, several IT admins have also confirmed that Windows 10 KB5000802 broke all Kyocera printing for their clients. None of the workarounds helps except removing the cumulative update.

I had this problem with two clients today, I managed to fix it by uninstalling today's update 10/03/21

Good to know. Mojorolla already started a thread here:

Yep had a few reports of this today, uninstalled the latest update and all ok again. I've re-created the issue on my laptop and have found if i install the PCL driver it works ok, but the KX or universal driver doesent work.

Yea need to start a Class Action against MS. Far to many update problems and we can't not choose to install or not install anymore. We are their trouble shooters and testers.

Thought it was a Chinese or Russian hack, but nope.....just Microsoft (again).

Because this was not the MFP fault and a Microsoft caused issue was this repaired as a courtesy or how many of you charged the customers ?

I've been sending customers the link and telling them to get with their IT dept to remove the update, stating liability reasons for me not being able to remove the update.

We've just been uninstalling the KX driver and installing the KPDL or PCL driver.

That's what I do, what advantage does the KX driver have?

The big difference is some options do not install when using the PCL driver on some machines. That is the only difference I see other that one driver for all Kyocera machines.

Just more options, the KPDL and PCL driver are stripped down drivers with no features.
