Kyocera TaskAlfa 5052ci Tray 2 problem

Good afternoon,

A client called saying that suddenly printing from tray 2 are not working but when copying tray 2 is working normal.. tray 1 is A4 and tray 2 is A3.

Tried anydesk to check in the computer side and webui of the machine.. uninstall the driver and install new one.. tried 4 kinds of driver.. pcl, pdl, kx and xps.. all same.. thos xps a bit slow on printing..

First time encountering this kind of situation.

So looking for any advice will be highly appreciated.

And just to prepare myself before visiting them.

sounds like the file has different properties set in the driver... copy works so it isn't a hardware problem. are they expect a ledger sized print job? what size paper is loaded in tray 2?

Only A3 they are using for tray 2.

A3 11 3/4 x 16 1/2. If i remember correctly its excel files and pdf files that are being use to print on A3. So its like pdf files A4 being zoom to A3 to print while the excel file are whole worksheet.

Check media type, could be set to plain and print job is looking for glossy or something like that. Print driver may be requesting a different media type than what the machine thinks it has.

just a quick thought, is the paper size for cassette 2 set to auto metric? some print jobs hate to be told what to do and will not print even if you set the paper to be the size it wants. Especially fax prints. It sometimes needs to figure it out for itself that the paper is A3 or whatever size you want it to be.

just a quick thought, is the paper size for cassette 2 set to auto metric? some print jobs hate to be told what to do and will not print even if you set the paper to be the size it wants. Especially fax prints. It sometimes needs to figure it out for itself that the paper is A3 or whatever size you want it to be.

Its auto metric.

Whats the error message on print job

I drop by on the client.

So far this is what i encountered

1. I make file with A3 size. Autoselect source.
2. Send print.
2.1 Error came saying put paper in MP Tray. ( No paper on MP Tray and it is closed.)
2.2 i put then it prints.
3. Same file, select source Tray 2 (A3)
4. Send print.
4.1 Error came saying put paper in MP Tray. ( No paper on MP tray and it is closed.)
5. Copy from Adf and glass no problem with autoselect A3 detection.
6. I stop print spool, restart same problem.
7. Install different driver.. same result.

Its seems that whenever a print sent for tray 2 its been redirect into MP Tray.

I tried putting A4 on MP Tray and still whenever i send print into A3 still going to MP Tray even with A4 on it.

For now i let the client to use MP tray for their A3 print till find any solutions.

Thinking to reset to factory the machine and bring a laptop to test. Only 1 computer using it.

What application are your printing from? Thats the issue something wrong in the settings IE print from tray 1 not the printer
should be using the kx driver also

Normally they are using office and acrobat only. Oh well i tried different drivers same thing. And yes i discovered today that this problem occurs after windows 10 make update on KB ****802. So someone installed the xps drivers. I remove everything.. even the patch itself. But still a no go for tray 2. Which is really weird.

Did you check the file property rights? for the tray?

or is the copier set to "use printer settings?
