Sorry, but i made a big mistake
to make image density darker you has to increase the value
to make image density lighter you has to decrease the value
On older Venus series we used this setting (+20)to decrease the edge reduction problem.
But you also can use it to decrease the thickness of black.
Try to change U464/ Target for toner layer BK from 140 to 120, run U464/ calibration, U410/ Halftone adjustment and check the result.

Additional way will be Prescribe command if "D4" present. (Not available on all systems)

I, personally, haven't had a need to decrease toner density. But I like to know how to do these things. You're one of those guys that when you speak, I listen. You've never led me down the wrong path. In fact, you've taught me so much and I appreciate it.

U464/ Target shows the internal base for density
Dark and light density patches from calibration.
During each internal calibration, system is reading the patch density depended to U465/ Stress.
Too light, system will increase all voltages for MC, laser, DV Bias, transfer bias and so on
Too dark, system will decrease these voltages.
If you look for U464 explanation in service manual from xx53ci series, maybe it`s a little bit more clear.

I tried it u464 values the target for colours where 830's for colour and 150's for black so I took the colours down to 750 and the colours became very light so took them to 810's and it just made it a little less. Doesn't take much to make it very light I wouldn't of gone lower than 800 on the 5052 I played with.

I did a little experiment on one with a lot of 72xx codes customer only prints black and the Devs are shot so I've reduced the targets just to see if I can get a bit more life out the colour Devs.

When I did it I knocked 20 off then do a u464 calibrate then do a u089 test pattern was pretty much instant for me.
