Howdy folks,
I got a 3253 that was making a grindy noise. The waste toner bottle is not turning. There is nothing wrong with the drive, i wedged my long nozzle on my vacuum onto the gear and got the motor to turn on and its got lots of drive. I did notice on the bottle, the little grey claw that is part of the shutter looks slightly deformed. I pulled the shutter all the way open and inserted the bottle and now it's happy. No more noise and you can't spin the bottle by hand anymore. Im playing with my waste toner unit i have on the shelf and the only thing i can replicate on that one is if i push the bottle away from the gear just slightly i can make it skip.
When i pull the shutter all the way open and then install / remove the bottle, the shutter is not closed all the way. Im guessing that little assembly that engages the bottle to open the shutter is dicked up some how.
Machines low volume with a year to go, im tempted to just leave it and swap the bottles as needed.
Any body else seen this? I really don't want to swap that unit out ?
