[Misc] Ecosys m3550IDN repeated dot pattern and clicking/skipping cassette

We've recently pulled this unit out of storage, when printing a page there is a repeating pattern of dots (offset between prints but with the same interval makes me assume it has to be a roller somewhere). Also if I fully load the cassette I get a loud clicking noise (sounds like plastic gears skipping, assuming its the cover lift gear?).
I've noted that there is after printing a negative image of the marks on the developer unit roller ,a layer of toner with three dots missing and showing bare metal. Cleaning the developer roller did not resolve the issue. Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve either of these issues?

Replace the charge roller to get rid of the spots.
Loud clicking could mean the right hand guide may need replacing as one of the pins a gear runs on may be broken.

      What Kyotecnz said.
      MC-3100 has a blister.
The cassette guide replacement is fun. Allow a couple of hours if you haven’t done it before. There is a bulletin re this.

Perfect, I did a hot-swap with the main charge roller from our other printer and the problem went away! I've found a couple of places online selling the whole main assembly for 130-160$ usd. I've also seen just the roller for like 8-10$, am I ok to assume that the rollers are just knock-offs and the assembly is OEM?

As to the right side guide I'm struggling to find a part number on it. Do either of you know if "302lv02040, guide cassette r" is the correct part for a m3550idn?

Either way thanks for the save on the charge roller, it had me scratching my head.

As far as I know it is now 302LV02043 Cassette Guide R.
You may want to pull the old one off first to confirm you need one.
As Ropariva said this could take a while.

Get yourself a CT-3100 Cassette. It's spring loaded instead of gear driven. Cut the tab off of the left side rail of cassette and install. Or you can take the tray lift mechanism from the CT-3100 and install in the original cassette.

Although I respect using the CT-3100 instead of replacing the broken cassette guide make sure you have adequate lift with a full ream of paper. The M3550 has an optical sensor that regulates the lift height and the springs in the CT-3100 don't always raise the paper quite high enough.
