308ci problems with paper sizes I think?

Have three NEW TASKalfa 308ci copiers just out of the box and installed. When scanning legal size thru the document feeder it puts it on letter size paper and cuts off the bottom of the page. If you put it on the glass and select legal size paper it puts it on legal size paper but cuts off the bottom part of the paper. We watched the scanner and it does not scan the full size of the paper when on the glass. We have checked the cassette setting and they are set to Auto and inch. If we adjust the 2nd cassette to inch and legal we can scan thru the document feeder and it will put it on legal size paper, but putting it on the glass it reverts back to cutting off the bottom of the paper. Firmware version is v.3.11.

There's a place in the system menu to tell the ADF to detect the size. It is off by default. On the glass, you have to tell it that your original size is legal. There are no size detection sensors under the glass or on the ADF tray.

I was wondering about that. Have not seen this model before. Thanks for setting the record straight.

All of the smaller Kyocera devices have that option. Nice to have, but also, should be enabled by default.
