Hi,
Heard of an modification on this model, has to do with the waste toner disposal?
Machine makes a lot of noice and sometimes results with an error 2840

someone known with this modification?
also known which parts needs to be replaced?

Any help appreciated here, not that much experience on this model

I know of no modification for this issue. The typical procedure involves replacing the belt unit, the box waste unit (inside the drum drive) and repairing or replacing the wtb unit (the receptacle for the waste toner container) Often the top and bottom of the wtb unit will get split, not go back together properly and stop turning the waste toner container or intermittently stop turning it. I have not seen it on any of the 4 series machines, only the 2 and 3 series, though.

There was a known issue it was caused by a firmware 'bug'

• Code: C2840
• Description:Belt cleaning motor error
• Causes:1. The motor FG pulse of is not input for 2s continuously during the motor operation.2. The FG pulse exceeding 4000rpm was detected 10 times continuously.3. The motor speed was out of the target speed (+/- 6.25%), and the condition was continued for 2s.
• Remedy:1 Checking the primary transfer unit The primary transfer unit is not properly installed. Reinstall the primary transfer unit. Primary Transfer Unit Replacement 2 Cleaning the primary transfer cleaning section The roller in the primary transfer cleaning section does not rotate properly. Remove the waste toner remaining in the primary transfer cleaning section. 3 Checking the wire The wire is not properly connected. Reinsert the following wire connectors, and replace the wires when they have no continuity.• Belt cleaning motor - Transfer PWB• Transfer PWB - Transfer connection PWB• Transfer connection PWB - Feed image PWB Electrical Diagram of PWBs 4 Checking the wire The wire is not properly connected. Reconnect the wire connectors between the feed image PWB and the engine PWB. If the wires are pinched or it have any damage, fix or replace them.
