    306ci/307ci/308ci Color trouble

I recently spent time working on a 307ci that had the 3 colors washed out, but black was fine. The U410 shows from a good 308ci & the problem 307ci. After trying U021, HV PWB & Primary belt, I ended up finding that the transfer belt release motor housing was cracked. We had one in stock as I've replaced a couple in the past that generated errors when the shaft in it broke. This machine didn't have an error code. I pulled apart 4 different machines in our warehouse & all 4 had that housing cracked. I know one of them had light yellow prints that we never could remedy and ended up replacing with a 308ci.
I'd say if you're having any color issues on these series of machines, that would be a good place to start. I doubt at this stage in the lineup that the part will get updated, and 40 & 50 uses the same part.

I have the same problem with a 358ci but apparently it doesn’t have a transfer belt release motor.

It shows up on the 358ci parts guide 302R431810. It's on the front frame under the black plastic that goes around the cavity of the machine.

Thanks tmaged, oddly enough it’s not in the SM listed in the design/electrical/motors. But you’re correct it’s in the Parts manual. I’m going to check it out and hopefully will resolve the issue.
