    Print Qulity problem

Hello, I bought this printer and I can say that I am a little disappointed. The scanning is excellent but I find the printing disappointing. The prints are quite faint so some of the smaller letters are hard to read. I went through all the settings five times, eco print was turned off, everything was set to Hi quality, but still the same. I also bought a new, original toner with a chip, the situation is the same again. Does anyone have any idea why that is???

The toner does not go directly on to the page. Toner fills up a developer unit first. If the previous owner used cheap generic toner, it will still be inside the developer unit. There is no way to clean it out. If you are determined to fix this, I would recommend a drum and developer unit. Then run the "new dev" procedure to fill up the empty developer tank with your fresh OEM toner.

Hi. This model goes back a looooong time. It’s very much entry level. They weren’t that great with image reproduction back then and it’s pretty much par for the course. They have gotten a lot better in the last 15 years

The printer was bought new in the store, as was the toner. New, I unpacked it. It's the same with the factory original, it's the same with the new original with the chip. It's not about poor resolution, the print looks like the toner is running out, so there are also faded areas.

Try doing a developer refresh several times. This will load toner into the developer units. .

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

I've done it a few times, but it's still the same

Defective Developer units, The carrier oxidizes with age and non use.

When did you buy it new? Isn't this model over 12 years old?
