Thoughts on the new line that replaces the Kyocera M2040, 2540, 2640??

Hi all.... I just wanted to see if anyone has a few of the new line out & your thoughts on them. MA4000 series, is it a better fuser assy, or is it too early to tell yet?
I hope its better than the old crap.

I have a few of the UTAX branded versions of the MA3500cix - The 3563i - out in the field. I also have several of the 5526cdw (UTAX 2655wMFP) and M2040s (UTAX P4020mfp) to comapre against.

I only have the 35PPM Colour MFP version to provide thoughts on, I do not have any other models from this range in the field (yet).

My 3563i are all relatively new, with my highest mileage device being around 30k. The only issue I have encountered with them so far was incorrect toner level detection, which has been resolved in a FW update.
There was also a bulletin detailing issues that can arise if the toner is removed without first lifting the top cover to the fully open position, I have not had this issue with my fleet as of yet.

I also have a few with card readers installed running PaperCut MF and PaperCut HIve HyPAS embedded apps, no connection issues at all.

I can't speak for fuser quality as they are all so new, but I will say that the print engine hardware (drums, devs, ITB, Fuser) all seem identical in design to the previous generation (Mebius) machine (M6230cidn/P3062iMFP) which in turn were all pretty much the same internals as the Geminis (M6026cidn). Just seems to be modern MFPB, a nice new fancy screen and a visual refresh.

All in all they seem like a decent machine and I have loads more on order to put out.

I have been pushing sales to stop selling the 5526's as they are absolute buckets of shite. Cheap upfront, long term pain.
I have been pushing them to the MA3500's as the lowest spec A4 Laser MFP that we will provide.

Same story for the M2040s, they are so so fragile inside, had many a client rip the entire toner/drum/dev out of the machine which breaks the chassis guides and the drum shutter, horrible machines. Have been pushing for the M3145dn as the most basic mono laser mfp we will supply.

Long story short they seem like decent machines, just an update to the previous gen.

if you want a b&w machine for replacement,i think get a ecosys m3145dn,m3645dn or nextgen ma4500x,ma4500fx may be a better choice.just like the Predecessor model m3045dn,m3645dn.

All I wanted to know was the thoughts on the new engine small box machines that are replacing the m2040 series machines? I was curious if the fuser assembly if it any better. I'm not looking for buying a m3145 which is an old box, I was curious of what the status was and feedback on the new small boxes.

well I have had a couple locations with the new MA4500 and they seem alright so far. Too early to tell on the fuser at least for me. I've only had 3 MA4000's so far and I noticed that it just lets the toner out whenever while the 4500 has a sort of lock lever on the left which isnt very noticeable so I am worried about users breaking that because the machine wont let go until it hits 0%.
The only new machine i've put in that had an issue was a MA5500 that had a bad Main control board, it only acted up after we left the site so it was a battle with local IT to determine if the issue was the machine or the print server and outdated drivers they were using.

A friend asked the same question to me, I said when was the last time Kyocera made a great fuser unit, let alone on those little crap boxes???
I stopped selling those small entry level A4's.

You will lose customers selling them, or if you put them under contract, you will lose your shirt!
