[Misc] Kyocera Ecosys P2040dn, issue: "garbage"printing

    Hello everyone,
I need your help, to solve this issue (see attached "garbage" printing)
The printer is connected to a laptop or PC via USB cable (see attached Windows version).
Each time I switched the printer off and restarted the printer, the same issue occurred.
Printer power on, I unplugged, then plugged the USB cable to PC or laptop: same issue.
Installed the latest driver and the latest firmware: same issue.
Sometimes the printer keeps printing over and over all day until it runs out of paper!
    REMARKS:
When I removed the USB cable from the PC or Laptop, I switched off the printer. When I restarted the printer, there was no garbage printing, but after a few minutes, the same issue occurred.
All printers using network cable are working properly.

    Thanking you in advance

Try turning off WSD Print on the printer.
Delete the printer off the PC.
    Install KX driver instead.
    See what happens.

You have a computer on the network with the wrong driver. You can confirm this by restarting the device with the LAN & USB cables unplugged.

The driver for USB printing is wrong one.

This has been reported as being caused by Windows updates:

              Fix

Booted from a Windows install USB, Choose Troubleshooting and uninstalled the last Quality Update.

This removed KB:5050081 and after rebooting the issue went away.

The data is typical monitor traffic from Windows to its IPP ports set up via WSD so certainly turning those things off at the device (as suggested) will prevent you from getting the gibberish at your printer.

The monitor messages which are printing have been found to be related to a Widows feature used on USB ports. The feature can be turned off using the attached procedure. Windows-11-10-USB- Print-Issue-03-25-2.pdf

Well noted. I will try these settings, and I will give you feedback.
                    Thank you.
