    U934 c9540 error 6053ci

Has anyone had any experience with mode u934 or the c9540 error?

The machine had f186 which was communication error between engine and main board. At the time we thought this was related to the harddrive so we exchanged that with a new one which resulted in c9540 so the original HDD was reinstalled but c9540 after that point.

We obtained reset codes but we're not really sure how these are to be inputted as when they're entered nothing happens. Put the 8 separate codes in then press start and nothing really says it's done anything but when rebooting machine c9540 pops back up.

C9540 and f186 appear to point to the same thing communication failure between main board and engine board.

What I'm trying to find out is if I now change main board or engine board just to see if one of the boards is bad will I completely brick the machine?

And what the actual procedure is to enter the codes in u934 as it's not listed anywhere?

I saw this only once, and it happened because a BW Engine EEPROM had been placed into a Color machine. The BW EEPROM simply doesn't contain the Color Data for U934. (and may not be set up to hold it).

You can't pull a HDD out of another machine and use it in a different machine without formatting it on a computer first. I stuck a HDD out of a color machine into a B&W and the status page showed color toner and count information.
      Hope that helps !

You can't format the HDD on the copier to resolve this?

HDD may be alright, but I know the SSD definitely has machine specific info on it, so it needs to be formatted outside of the machine. It will say it's formatting when it recognizes the new drive, but it doesn't overwrite it completely.

Ive got a 3253 doing some interesting lock up things when doing scan to email. It did this last year and i replaced the HDD and it solved it. Going to do the SSD and HDD as a pair this time to see if it helps. Parts are coming from another 3253 so hopefully it's ok.

I bought one of these mSata USB adapters to format the SSD on the computer.
              Hope that helps !
