    kyocera 8525/255c splotches

Anyone else notice these machines tend to leave occasional random splotches on the prints, can be any color. Usually I just give them a clean up, pulling drums and developer units and blowing them off and cleaning charge rollers. Happens on machines with hardly any copies and ones with a lot that have had the MK replaced. I would think drum recovery blade or developing assy would be the problem, but it's so intermittent it's hard to track down. Just curious if others have had repeated issues to the point they know exactly what causes this.

Yea, but if that were the problem, wouldn't it effect all colors? One machine may be splotching magenta, another machine black, another yellow, but rarely more than one color at a time.

Especially in situations where your enduser is doing a very low percentage of color, the color developers will tend to overtone. The only way around it is to do more color, which the enduser won't do. I've always been puzzled by customers that buy color machines but rarely ever print color. It's like those folks that buy huge jacked up SUV's with all the lights and gismos, then drive then in city traffic, on paved roads, at 25mph. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

the transfer belts on these just don't/can't keep clean under light color usage thanks to design afaik. Also the transfer belt auger always plugs.

I've become adept at tearing into, cleaning with vacuum, and assembling the cleaning section of the belt onsite. It's awkward, so try on a cadaver on bench first to learn You'll know that you've forgotten to reconnect the HV spring if there's a slight background with pattern afterwards.

Look for QA's E122, F162 & F178. Usually if it's the belt cleaning unit, it'll be brown. Sounds like yours is likely the DV units. F178 explains how to clean them, which seems to work pretty well.
            Hope that helps !
