We started evaluating our contracts on our desktop units and the supplies of our Kyocera desktop units, especially the Kyocera M5526cdws are losing significant amounts of money. I wanted to see if anyone has noticed that the fields are not nearly as much as the mfg suggests and or that the color supplies are being deminished when printing black and white? Also, if maybe there might be something wrong with these units?

We have a lot of these under contract and actually noticed that the color cartridges are being used up quickly even on black and white prints. I guess we can print out a service report to see coverage. I guess I am not 100% sure what is TBA failure?
As for the Kyocera MA3500ci we only have a couple of those in the fields but we also noticed similar results with the MA6635cidnsComment

We've stopped selling Kyocera desktops all together, thankfully, way too many issues at least with this series and the 6635 series, but the m2640 was pretty decent, rarely had issues on those as far as I can remember. It wouldn't surprise me though if you're having issues with yields, those cartridges only last 4k anyway.
Back when we had these, we definitely had a bunch of machines that they only did B/W on, and they would complain about replacing the color cartridges, but it's because of it doing process control so often, regardless of what colors are being used. We pretty much could never use aftermarket toners on anything newer from Kyocera, the machines wouldn't read them.........then again, this model had issues with reading genuine a lot, too.Comment
