    [Jamming] CS 8002i J4101

    Hi everyone,

I have two Kyocera CS 8002i machines that have an issue I've never seen before, and I'm hoping someone else has seen this and can shed some light on this so I can resolve this issue.

What seem to be happening is, while in duplex, the printer will jam, and I will find one sheet of paper behind the transfer belt unit, and one in front of the transfer belt unit. Also there will be one sheet of paper that has entered the gap in the frame, just under the drum unit, and is wrapped under the drum itself. One sheet of paper I pulled out from under the drum had magenta toner on it from, I'm assuming, the "dusting" at the manufacturer when the drum unit was built.

Toner is everywhere, including on the prints in a wide, solid area covering about a third of the print, beginning at lead edge.

I have two 8002i machines, in two separate school locations, with this same issue.

    Help!

These machines run really dirty if the collection unit and all vents arnt cleaned every 100k usually.

You need to take the drum/Dev out you'll notice on the front of the Dev tank a cover clips off has a vent all the way along. Clip that off vac it all out then van where the Dev touches the back you'll notice more vent holes. Take the box off the back open that up and clean it all out.

Kinda by design you get alot of toner dust because they use a sleeve roller on the Dev tank so it has to be collected some where. Black and white machines seen to run ALOT more dirty than the colour versions but they suffer the same around 250k.

Hope that helps they are good machines but every so many calls it's a very dirty job to do.

Misfeeds (J4001, J4002, J4003, J4004, J4101, J4102, J4103, J4104) from all trays. Normal toner dusting contaminates vertical path drive motor bushing, binding up the motor. The motor cannot be turned by hand. Temporarily soak out vertical path drive motor bushings in alcohol and lubricate with light oil.

I believe it's called Middle Conveying Motor (302NH94140). I've seen the same issue on the AlphardI Gaia & Zeus, AlphardII Gaia & Zeus, and AlphardIII Zeus. The toner pouring down fuses to the warm parts of the motor binding up the drive.

Bring in the vacuum. You'll need it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
