it`s not oppsite, it`s not enough.....
old spring 1,2N load, new spring with 0,45N load.
in case of usage from bad quality paper you get this kind of problems.
One system meanwhile runs 160k scans with our modification.
Jamming not gone in total, but decreased dramatically...and acceptable from end customer.
Now after 362K in total, new paper feed roller assy needed.

The new spring lessens the pressure so removing the spring is consistent with the intent of the bulletin.

You are assuming that since the new spring is longer and more expanded then it must be stronger.

Removing the spring may cause a few no feeds though.

Do you think this will help pages double feeding thru the ADF?

As I mentioned the biggest issue is with 200 page scans, the computer will show 194 pages in the document versus 200 actually scanned.

We are replacing the Sep roller to help with this as well.

I have seen many times over the years that lessening the pre-load of the primary feed or double feed prevention rollers helps prevent double sheet feeding.. even though that goes against logic. 👍
