[Jamming] DF-7120 J6301

Howdy folks,

Got a 3553 with DF-7120 1k finisher. Every morning it has J6301 which is Sub Tray Eject Sensor Non Arrival Jam.

I cannot find any reference in the manual to a sub tray eject sensor or switch in the manual but the jam code does say to check the middle sensor. Im assuming im reading this code right as it does relate to 3 finishers. The jam mostly happens between 7am and 8am. When we get there the machine works perfectly fine. We have cleaned all the rollers in the finisher and the exit rollers of the AK.

May not help, but I remove the two mylars on the upper entrance guide to the finisher. They cause issues in the summer when paper is damp and has much less body to get pushed through. It was added for transparencies, which nobody uses anymore.

Ill check that out, my initial thought is the AC is off at night and it's humid in the office over night. I would expect more jams than just the few top sheets though.
The big wide mylars on the bottom or the little ones ontop?

I actually ripped a 7120 apart in the office. There is a sponge pad under the middle sensor actuator. Im wondering if its getting sticky and holding the flag.

The two thinner ones in the top center of the guide. They are there to put a buckle in transparencies since the sensor would never see clear sheets going through. They just cause issues IMO.

We see this 6301 jam code all the time too. I'm thinking about trying tmaged's mylar removal recommendation and monitor the results the next time we get a call for this issue.

We brought the finisher back to the office and attached it to our machine here. Going to try it tomorrow morning and see what happens. I suspect it works fine.

Interesting enough this morning the machine had J6001 x 8 before it started playing nice. I found a old post on a 5501 with a bad LVPS with the machine not coming out of sleep mode for printing but that didn't yield results. J6001 shows it reached the entrance sensor before the paper exited the main unit

I never had that issue on a Kyocera, but had it a few times on Sharp ADF's with detection flags. Hard to replicate, but after it sits overnight, it sticks in that pad so when it tries to release, it sticks. Would make a heck of a lot of sense!

We ripped the 2 mylars off the top of the entrance unit. It jammed once on Sunday at 12pm. J6301. Mon/Tues so far ok.
We have their old finisher in the shop and we are using it. It's fine. The Middle Sensor actuator is not sticking. It's not like the sharp where the actuator has a point on it that stabbed into the pad.
