    TA 3500 j0512

    Good afternoon
I have a machine that is kicking my butt. TA 3500 with 850k. The call started with j0511 and j0512 codes. I have replaced feed tires. All feed switches and photo interrupters throughout paper feed path. I have also switched main conveying unit with a known working machine. I have replaced conveying shaft and clutch. After replacing these parts the j0511 has gone away but still getting 0512. IF i turn the paper sideways 11x8.5 it runs fine. will not feed 8.5x11r. Paper stops with half on an image on it and next piece has just started to come out of the paper feed unit. Not far enough to grab. have to open drawer and pull it from there. any help would be great. thanks chuck

Is the lower right door closing completely? You might increase the spring pressure on the door idler rollers. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The codes you provided indicate the machine is detecting multiple sheets being fed from the cassettes, the only difference in the codes is which cassette it is feeding from. Check the retard roller on cassette 2 since the cassette 1 error has gone away. What is interesting is that you say that changing the orientation of the paper changes the outcome. Have you checked the picker fingers in the fuser assembly to make sure they are all there and operating properly?

        Good morning
sorry for the delay in response. i just got to sit back at my desk for a minute. I will look at the bottom tray to make sure it is closing. I forgot to mention that i have also replaced fuser. In fact that's the first thing i switched. i have seen fusers cause some weird stuff. thaks for the replies. i will defiantly try all suggestions. chuck .

Just a stab in the dark, but....

Did you check the Cassette/MP Tray Settings in System Menu and make sure all the drawers and MP Tray are set to Paper Size:Auto and Media Type:Plain?

Ive had this before. it will feed from tray 2 but not tray 1. Swap the pre-registration unit.

I ran into a similar pj problem on this model because I didn't fit the doors/covers back correctly. It kicked my ass for a minute.

I love it when you trot out the database!

There will come a time when you're searching something, and you think " ... I don't remember that ... did I write that?" And you DID! You just forgot! I find threads like that ... I'll be reading along and think" ... sounds like something I'd say ... oh, it is something I said."

Had to go back to this machine for a drum cleaning problem. LOL The machine had 3 jams (j0512) in 3000 pages. The customer is ok with the paper orientation. Both are 11x8.5. I know this is not a fix but it does allow them to use the machine. I did check everything suggested. Thanks for the help!
Unfortunately we will be losing this account soon. We have serviced this company for 30+ years. They started with 4 people and now have offices all over state. They are merging with a larger company and we are too small of a company to handle that big of an area. Sucks but what can you do?
