    M6035 0511 Jams

    Bit of a hard one to track down but I have a trouble machine that either keeps double feeding from tray 1. Brand new tyres checked the springs even tried different springs but it just ends up being called back in a few days later. Last time I went it suddenly set the tray to a5 even though the cassette was set to a4 on the dial. I flicked the little switches next to the tray a few times and it was back to a4.

    Seem to be seeing these double feeding a heck of a lot lately. Any one else had trouble like that?

      We've had those size switches go bad. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          I believe on this model, if you read the manual, you have to replace the sep roller with the cassette installed. There's a lever that won't be in the correct position if you don't, and the sep roller doesn't mate up with the feed roller.

              Know any hacks to over ride those sensors? Such a bad idea why can't it be set in the menu 😔.

                  I've had that as well but it's not that on this one. I've just read a bulletin about putting some shims on the front of the tray so I might try that next. Supposed to help sep tyre release better when the tray is shut I might just take it off completely so it's always on.

                      If you're hands are steady, it's possible to disassemble the switch, and put a little more bend into the copper contacts. Keep in mind that the parts are very small, and it's very easy to break the plastic snaps that keep the switch latched shut. I have been successful most of the time.

                      To get that switch assembly out, there's a hidden screw that is behind the fan on the other side of the frame. =^..^=

                          Just a quick update I replaced the cassette and switch at the same time. So far so good the new cassette has a raised square where the sep pressure roller lever sits. I guess that will help put more pressure on but the switch definitely sorted mine.
