    Hiya,

Anybody seen this type of fault before on a Ecosys M3655idn? MFD version of a P3145dn

It look to me like your primary charge is cutting out. I would start by replacing the drum unit. It could also be the HVT. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

My crystal ball is not working today. What is the page count? What is the maintenance kit page count? What have you done to resolve the issue so far?

Maybe he thought he was reaching out to the Copytechnet Psychic Hotline (13 minuets for $10).

That's a one eight hundred number I do not have on me at this time.

They ought to know you're dialing before you call.

Hehe, have you tried turning your crystal ball off and on again :P lol!

          Meter of device is 165,000
          Same goes for Maintenance kit

I had a spare printer of the same, so was able to rob some parts.
Have already tried replacing the drum unit and the HVT, but to no avail
Took out transfer roller, gave the contacts inside a clean.

Can't see any obvious signs of damage, device was working perfectly fine and then all of a sudden these black bands appear.

Perhaps the developer bias is shorting, causing the HVT to cut out. Try the developing unit. =^..^=

              Thanks Blackcat,

Sorry I should have said Imaging unit as a whole, I took out the entire lump from one device to this, so that included the Dev unit, Drum unit and toner cartridge aha 0_o

I'd say the band is a good inch wide

Under the 2 black lines is image ok? I see 2 other white lines with same width.

Image appears normal between inch wide bands, the first band is solid black followed by an immediate two-tone band, starting white gradually getting darker.

Have you checked wall voltage that the machine is plugged into? Looks like voltage/ground issues.

I moved the device to a different location to work on it, tried a different kettle lead too, same problem occurs.
Will have another crack at it tomorrow now the device is in the workshop. Will try strip it down and clean any of the charging contacts I can see. Maybe I'll come across a staple or something...... :'D
