Screen stuck on "Welcome" // CS-3554ci

[SOLVED]We delivered a new machine today that was setup and tested in the shop. After setting the customer network info and running 917 to import the address book it stuck on the "Welcome" screen during reboot. It would not take firmware or respond to the home key. It would pre-drive when you opened and closed a cover.

Eventually tracked it to a bad CIS interface board (the board you install when installing the adf). Replacing that board resolved the issue.

Just though I'd post in case anyone else runs across the issue.

Good call, always disconnect accessories when troubleshooting electrical problems to isolate the main unit.

I have seen the same problem with a '3' series machine and the DPIF PWB.

Along these lines of 'boot states', beware of a new 'Partial Operation' screen layout on the '4' Series (See Photo)
    partial_Op.jpg

With this series, the engineers designed a Partial Operation state to isolate Print From Scan. So a Print failure will still allow Scan features and vice versa.

Like the previous Partial Op, the C-code which initiated it no longer appears once the machine has rebooted itself (it does that too) from the error and entered the state.

Certain Maintenance Modes cannot be entered (U000 in my case of a print failure as well as test operation modes for the engine like U030)

As before, a 906 reset must be performed to boot into full operation state and see any C-codes which have occurred.
