    Kyocera 5501i - strange noise

    Hello. Please listen attached sound clip (close to the end) for strange sound. Is anybody can point me in the right direction to fix it.

    I sounds to me like the fuser pressure being released, just slightly louder than usual yes, but within normal parameters. If it really bothers you, you can warranty the fuser.

    One other thing ... check the squirrel cage fan for the IH board. It tends to fill up with lint. At full speed its reasonably quiet, but as it slows down you can hear it vibrate. There are other squirrel cage fans in the machine. You can test them individually in U037, if you like. Also try the motors in U030. Usually all it needs is the dust bunny removed.

    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
