    KM 3050 fax problem

We are hoping that someone has run into this issue and can provide us with some insight as to solution. We have a KM3050i that when faxing a letter size document is turning the image sideways for the person receiving the document so it is extremely reduced and it also shows it being sideways on the fax confirmation that is printed out on the machine. The only suggestion we have gotten thus far from DSC is to replace the HHD which we have done twice now one a repaired HHD and the second time one direct from the vendor.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'd try faxing one from the glass. This should point you to the ADF. Usually when the receiving fax reduces, it's because it thinks it's receiving a ledger size document.
      Hope that helps !

I agree with both respondents. Most likely the document feeder is mis-identifying the original length as ledger, not letter. As a result the ledger size original is reduced and rotated to fit.

The best way to confirm this is to fax from the contact glass. If the image is correctly identified as letter, then it is definitely a DP sensor problem.

On a side note this should affect all scanning functions: copying, faxing, and scanning. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
