[Misc] TaskAlfa 8002i Inner Unit and U132

    Hello everybody!

I have a Barber Pole issue on a TA8002i, 130k prints, non OEM toner used, on which my boss told me that I need to somehow replace the toner in the DV unit (which we suspect is the problem). I would kindly ask if:

    1. Is it safe to vacuum all toner from the Inner Unit? (the component that you have to remove in order to have access to DV, DK, MC)
    2. Have to use U132 to Forcibly Supply Toner to the DV Unit, and if so, for how long? Till it stops by itself?
3.Developer Refresh menu command does anything to do with replacing old toner with the new one, or just agitate de developer already inside the DV Unit

Have to say that this Barber Pole issue has surfaced after resolving toner fusing problems (done +10C on fuser temps), while printing the pattern in order to calibrate. Our client prints technical drawing, minimum coverage, so it was not obvious why some of the print was missing.

Safe? Yes. No harm will come to you.

      Advisable? Definitely not.
Unlike earlier monocomponent Kyoceras, your 8002i has developer (dual component). If you were to vacuum out all the developer, it would be replaced by 100% toner eventually. Copies would go from completely blank to (at best) light gray.

Honestly, I have no idea what would happen if you ran U132 without any developer.
I do know what would not happen. No developer would re-appear in the developing unit.

I'm have trouble detecting a question here. Developer refresh simply agitates the contents of the developing unit.
Like the previous, I honestly don't know what it will do if the unit is empty, but I do know what it will not do. It will not make developer appear in an empty unit.

Adjusting fuser temperature did not cause the developer to degrade. If both these things happened within a short period of time it was entirely coincidental.

It's the non-genuine toner causing the issue. If you install a new DV with new developer in it, the copies will look great for a few thousand copies, until the generic toner is re-supplied. If you want a long term solution, replace both the DV and install Genuine Toner. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
