    Drum driving distance?

    Hello folks,

In another thread, there was a discussion about ghosting and background issues on prints and someone suggested to do a "Drum driving distance" by going into U100. And if it was Sky High, then the drum would need to be replaced. I do not understand what this mean. Can someone please explain what this procedure means?

    Thanks in advance!!

U100 is a voltage adjustment. If you are using all OEM toners, drum and developers and they are not past life there should be no need for voltage adjustments.

What if we are using OEM drum and Developer with compatible toner? will the compatible toner quickly use up the OEM Developer inside Developer unit?

It is not recommended to use anything but OEM toners for Kyocera's. There have been posts here about it, our company uses only OEM because we had many problems because of non OEM toners, once we switched our calls were reduced and most items made it to PM, some say static control makes good non OEM toners, all have said to stay away from the really cheap Chinese made toners as they will defiantly cause issues.
If toner is the issue, changing voltages to try to compensate for that only causes more issues and headaches for techs trying to work on it later on down the road.
