thumbnail_20230531_193132.jpgthumbnail_20230531_193145.jpg Anyone ever seen this before? First pic is a status page, second is a blank copy. Very intermittent, maybe once every 15-20 pages. Can happen from print, copy, or internal report. I swapped the machine out for another one I had laying around of the same model cause it was an hour away, so it's in my shop and I'm wondering if it's worth fixing or parting out. Be nice to know what part is bad though. No error codes. There appears to be a pattern to it, board maybe? Paper direction is Letter, not Letter R.

Re: Kyocera 6525 copy quality
If the paper was fed LEF, and based on the intentional look of the anomaly, and the blank images ... I would suspect the laser. Plus I've changed a laser on a few of these Kyoceras. Keep in mind that charge arcing can cause the laser to shut down, but the anomaly looks too intentional to be charge arcing. It's always the same distance from the leading edge and the anomaly re-appears in the same identical way ... charge arcing would not do that.
IF you could catch it in the act on a ledger size image, and emergency stopped the machine, you should see the anomaly on the drum, and none of the original image on the drum. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Kyocera 6525 copy quality
I've seen a few lasers go out on Kyoceras over the decades, but they always gave a code. The more I think about it I think I've seen something similar a long time ago on either a printer or a fax and it was the laser assy. It's a weird one, I'll have to see if I have another parts machine with a laser still attached, not too difficult to replace.Comment
