    ECOSYS M5526cdw, staines

I am a KonicaMinolta guy with not too much experience with Kyo's and I see this machine for the first time.

It is making two fat lines with stains. This seems to be a known issue with these machines and according to sources it needs a new Transfer Belt Unit as well in most cases also a new modified waste toner auger.

Is this still correct? Any modifications to avoid this issue in the future?
Does one have for me please the part # for the necessary parts and
    a technical manual?

Some additional advice or hints, please?

    Thanks

    Hans

    Belts would modified by KDC
Check waste forwarding spring in bk drum.
If spring not deformed, new belt needed only, otherwise new drum bk + belt

Take a look at the charge rollers they tent to get coated with paper dust . Clean them that will save you a call later

              Hi
Is it possible to get just the cleaning unit separately or does the whole transfer unit have to be replaced?? I have a device that is just 2 years old, has only printed 2,500 pages and now the error has occurred. Thanks for an answer.

from KDDE you get 3 years of warranty for the belt unit, it`s LLU part and:
"NO", cleaning unit itselfs it`s not available as a separate sparepart.
Get in touch with Meerbusch and send warranty claim for broken one after you ordered/ mounted new part.

I think Its a bad design or at least the firmware should be updated to run the waste motor longer to prevent the clogging up of waste and paper dust.

I clean out the packed solidified toner from the waste assembly. Then I drill a hole through shoulder side of the gear, inside toward the waste assembly. Add a piece of a fatter paper clip and bend both ends over. basically just reconnecting the gear to the auger because the outside lock on the gear is destroyed.

I've had pretty good luck with this field fix, unless its do for a black drum.

                    Re: ECOSYS M5526cdw, staines

I cleared the lumps of toner out of the assembly and made a repair of the damaged D-shaped white gear and everything seems fine now.

Is there a known reason for the waste toner coming from the transfer belt clogging the transport coil? The machine I have now in my workshop is just one year old and made only 5K prints. Based on the modified longer "Waste Toner Lump Breaking Spring" one would not be expecting this problem coming up again.

It will happen again and again. The ones that I repaired have been successful but then the black drum backs up from the waste toner and in turn packs the waste assembly.
