Hello, I am new to posting but I use this site alot in my endeavors.
Recently in the last couple months we have been seeing a pattern of these codes (c1950 and c2840). It happens especially when changing a Maintenance Kit. The new transfer belt goes in like normal but on reboot it pops a "c2840". Then after a restarts it throws "c1950" every power up. A 906 can help but if you need to touch or pull out transfer belt its very likely to happen again and on one machine i saw it completely freeze when trying to M906 or check M122 Serial.
Aside from changing a MK, I was on a service call yesterday checking Image Quality and pulled out the transfer belt. It wasn't rough or forceful. I reseated it and the code 2840 hit on power up, then 1950 on restart every time after that. The temporary fix to this for us was to put spacers on the maintenance door latch to put more pressure on the Transfer belt so it seats properly.
So what changed? Each time this problem happened I tested with different Transfer belts too.
I checked all the pins and connections for each machine this has happened to us on with no visible damages. The first machine I witnessed this happen; A simple 906 and reseat fixed it temporarily before coming back next time the transfer was touched.
Just wondering why I am starting to see a trend with this particular problem or if its a newer defect. The machines I have seen this on are 408, 6053, and 3553.
