    Taskalpha 500 cyan issue

has anyone ran across a cyan streaking issue?
i have replaced drum/developer and even swapped out transfer belt. still there, replaced the hvpwb per tech rep and that didnt clear it up. the streaking is not consistant and the coverage varies. it happens from an internal print or off the optics.

i'll try to attach a copy of the problem.

I have not seen this problem on the Saturn, but from the looks of your sample scan I also would lean toward a high voltage issue, probably primary charge.

So you've replaced the Cyan drum, Cyan developing unit, and HV PWB... The only remaining HV components are the connectors/cables/HV leads/HV contacts, possibly drum ground issue?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

well, the tech rep and i have been working on this all day. the drum/dev/transfer belt, and hvpwb have been replaced. still had the issue. we finally went into sim mode 100 and changed roller2 to -128 (negative 128). to clear it, but the image is ghosting and colors are off some when mixing with cyan. i kept dropping it down, but around -100 the cyan goes back to streaking.

so we are gonna hit it again tomorrow (maybe literally..lol)

If you've got the tech rep there, I'm assuming that the machine is at firmware v. 6.0/1.07. Just for kicks, I'd try downgrading the firmware to 5.0

                yes it is Tom..lol

we found the problem late this afternoon...whew

i'm still tweaking things to determine exact issue, but it is narrowed down.

we replaced main pwb, engine pwb, main power board, hvcpwb and still had issue. we finally swapped the pcbs on the front of the machine where the dev and drum plug in, and replaced the bezel. it cleared up!!! the old bezel still shows some cyan streaking. so i've got to get some conductive grease and try that on the bezal to see if that improves it on the old bezel.

lots of headaches working on this...i'm about to throw it out in the street..lol

                  question

do you think the board died because of weather or it got fried from a power surge???

we dont think it was power related. the grease on the bezel is pretty much gone and thinking the drum wasnt/isnt getting good ground. it may have affected the boards somewhat.

the machine has over 512k on it, i put a new bezel on it and it cleared up.
