    Kyocera/copy star 2030

Have done complete p.m. w/fuser rebuild.
end of page now showing dropping toner(toner splotches), and stringing toner.(maybe like bad toner?) Cleaned machine throughout. Still dropping toner but only on the trail edge, and this is where the stringing effect takes place too.
    ANY IDEAS

    Silly question, fuser pressure springs?

sounds like it is a fuser issue.

When the fuser was done the springs were replaced. Have checked and rechecked them also, compared them to another machine fuser. Then changed them out with a working machine. No Difference.
Thought maybe lower roller was not seated in the bearing races. Took it apart made sure, reassembled No Difference. Have a new thermistor, and Fuse in the fuser, rollers are new, bearings are new, springs are new, gears are new, collars are new. The lamp isn't. The issue was for sure tech induced. As the machine did not have this issue before full p.m. Though all of the fuser does not explain toner blotches, on blank paper at the trail edge. It is consistent. Also, put a known fuser from a working machine in the unit and the machine is still doing the same sympton. Thus silly question? Silly answer Kyoceradude. Any other ideas to the silly question?

pull the dev section out and make sure you have the dev unit sealed all the way around. i hate this machine due to the seals leaking toner upon rebuild.

It is not too silly. a tech may overlook the fuser pressure springs. Also take a look at the thermistor and thermostat. Never mind I see you said that was replaced. Also as Lnorris mentiond, check the seals. Especially the lower cleaning seal. Another thought, is it the right developer? Do you have another DV unit to swap with?

If its not the fuser it is most likely a cleaning seal.

I don't know if there are even specs for this on the new machines, but you should have ~ 6.5mm of Nipp Width.

If you don't recognize the term, this is a measure of fixing pressure: Run a skyshot on 11x17 paper. When the lead edge of the paper is just exiting the machine pop a door open. Wait 10 seconds, then roll out the piece of paper. You'll see a shiny band where the paper stopped between the rollers. The ends should measure about the same (6.5mm), the middle can vary +/- 0.5mm.

This measurement is pretty consistent across all copiers based on roller size.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
