Howdy everybody.
First let me set the scene. I've got a Kyocera KM-4230 that I need to set up with printing functionality. We got the 4230 in very good second-hand condition with an NC-6 network card.
A CD also came with the copy machine, however the software and documentation included on it are for the IB-2x series network cards. With the help of a Kyocera dealer downstate (Illinois), I've obtained a user's manual for the NC-6 and finally have the default username (root) and password (blank) for the web and telnet interface to make configuration changes there.
I'm trying to use job accounting. The 4230 allows you to set up to 1,000 4-digit or 7-digit Department Codes that I'm using as client codes so we can bill clients accordingly. I've got it working on the console of the copy machine flawlessly with 902 codes entered. However, after seeing the Job Accounting capabilities of the 4230's Kyocera Extended (KX) drivers found on Kyocera's website, I'd love to be able to use a department/client code when printing from a computer. Through the KX driver's interface, I've entered a handful of client codes and it works, however when I try to import all 902 with the .csv importer, it gives me an error stating "Number of Account IDs in file exceeds limit for this device." I know that's not true because not only do I have 902 codes set in the copy machine, but the user's manuals also tell me that it can store up to 1,000 codes!
So here are my questions:
1.) Does anybody know where I can find any software for the NC-6, particularly whichever version of AdminManager is compatible with the NC-6? The version included on the CD for the IB-2x is version 1.8.0. Kyocera's website has no way for me to search for the NC-6.
2.) Would the drivers listed on Kyocera's website for the 4230 be compatible with any 4230 no matter what network card it has installed?
3.) Does anybody have any ideas about the KX driver not allowing me to import all 902 department/client codes? I know when you import or manually create codes in the drivers, that they're not sent to the copy machine and created there. Therefore I think it's a programming problem. Any programmers out there?
If you've made it this far through this post, I thank you already!
