KM-6030(Utax 1060) memory error when upgrading firmware

Speaks fot itself this one really, what a fuckin nightmare for a friday afternoon. During fwu, the message appears and machine is stuck. I try to reload the fw but then get cf fat error, try another cf card -same error. Machine is now stuck on 'program loading ' screen. Tech support recommend changing the DIMM, the only card on the main board is a 128MB simm, common memory, surely they don't mean this do they????
Any and I mean ANY help on this would be greatly appreciated.

From what I can tell the Code DIMM is embedded in the Main PWB (Copystar part# 302FC68312. No guarranty that is the same board used on your Utax). The only other DIMM is for the print card firmware (which does come separately). =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

It's the same Kyocera part for a Utax, I checked to make sure. Anyway my plan is to go in first thing monday with a main board from a working machine we have spare, then just swap over the e-prom. Hopefully this will get the customer up and running until I get a solid response from Utax as to the cause and fix.
On another note Utax are Kyocera machines just with adifferent badge and display number. All part numbers and firmware is the same. Just a marketing ploy between KM and TA. Thanks for the reply.

Well I swapped over the main pwb and eprom, machine is working fine. very interesting bulletin, I'll look into thatwith my boss. The other issue now is that when you try to do any thing with this board it just says
Cf format error, Utax have warrantied the part for me so i guess that's that
