    T/A 500ci - C7101 error

Hi guys, my customer just put in a call for this c7101.
In the manual it says something about the black dev unit?
Anyone had this, any advice, what is causing this?
    It's done about 150k total.

I'd start looking at the dev drive motors/gears...
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

Make sure your machine is sitting level.
            Hope that helps !

There is tech bulletin 2H7-0041 (8952) regarding damage of the motor for developer/cleaning/toner container causing the fuse on the motors to melt due to high temperature.

Barney beat me to the answer. The bulletin covers defective developing and cleaning motors. I've also had a bad main drive pack (for your sake I hope that isn't the case). =^..^=

look guys , the reason we getting these issues is because the customers are not stocking the toners the right way and kma is not making these motors strong enough. If you noticed its allways after the customer replaced the toner , most offen the yellow.

I'm not getting your logic tex...

You're saying that the developing motor is under additional load when the toner cartridge is full? Sure the toner motor is under additional load when the cartridge is full. The developing motor is under some additional load at start of rotation, but once its running it experiences the exact same amount of load continuously until it stops. What does the toner cartridge have to do with this?

So when the toner density is slightly lower, and there is less volume in the developing unit, the developing motor is under additional load? I have to disagree... =^..^=

well seems like i've sorted it out... I ran U132 for about 30min. seems like the customer ran some big job with full page colour stuff, sucking huge amounts of toner from the dev units... seems like the machine could not recover the toner fast enough.

                          Re: T/A 500ci - C7101 error

I have a similiar problem to that of your copier, except mine is Taskalfa 4500i and the customer calls me when he had replaced a new toner to an error code C7460, which i had tried to clean the developer unit and the hopper as well as replace the toner again and it got working only to appear another error code C7101. First of thought that the developer might be out of toner so performed toner transfer but then the error came back on.

Then after thinking of thoroughly checking the motors and sensors, found out that the customer had used re-fill toners and so have advised for him to purchase proper genuine ones, as this might limit the chances of having the errors appear again.
