    km3035 fax problem

Customer says they can recieve everything but can't send. Says it throws back a page with a u01011 code after trying to send. i think they are having problems with the phone system as they have had before. he said this happened once before and their IT guy did something with the phone lines. But, that IT guy is on vacation. So I guess the copier guy is responsible. But I am on vacation too! I am 2 hours away. The book says:

U01011: No relevant signal was received after transmission of a DCS, TCF signal, and the preset number
    of command retransfers was exceeded.

I have never seen one receive but not send, and it end up being a machine/ fax failure.

Any help appreciated. They do not have another fax machine and are in "dire" need. Tried to get them to pick up a small fax and try it for now....anyone seen this code or able to decipher what it means, lol.

from my telephone days. if you are able to receive but not send, it usually a phone line issue. line may not be enable, disconnected or no long distance on the line. get a cheap analog phone and put it on the line and see if you can call out/in on that phone. usually same symptoms. but that proves the machine is not bad.

The fax is unable to complete training due to the poor quality of the phone line. It might not even help in this situation, but you might try lowering the initial modem speed to 9600KBs. In the end you need to get the phone company involved to straighten out their line issue. This is not a hardware issue. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        send/not rec

i have had in the past had m/c's that either send or rec but not both. it was the cable that goes to the wall
socket. this was on different fax m/c's not copier/fax. but i had one on fax sys N and it turned out to be the thick cable from pcb-pcb had dislodged at one end by just a couple of mm and i got the same thing.

        hope this helps
