What kind of corona wire are you using on CS-8030 primary wires? I've been experiencing disappointing results with the standard 74669000 Kyocera Oxided Tungsten Corona Wire 60um. They last anywhere from 60 to 100k before I get corona lines. I get better results from FF5-6884-000 Canon Brown Gold Corona Wire 60um. The Canon wire will last 300k, but still shy of the 500k PM cycle. I don't know what kind of wire is originally strung in the factory, but it lasts considerably better than anything that I've got.
Any of you Canon guys will remember on the iR550 when the blue wire cleaners and brown wire first came out. Some of our techs kept stringing the bright gold wire with those blue wire cleaners. Within a very short time, the blue cleaners would scrub all the gold plating right off the tungsten wire, and make corona lines. It's just like that.
I don't want to remove the wire cleaners. I think that's counter-productive. It certainly won't increase my time between calls. I may be able to adjust the interval between the cycling of the wire cleaners. If I could double the interval between cleanings, I think the Canon wire might last the whole 500k. =^..^=
