1820 - Remove memory cover on right side of machine, one screw/pin. Remove plate inside, two screws. Insert CF card with files on root.

2810 - USB drive with files on root in the USB slot in front.

For both, power off, insert appropriate media, then turn on. Firmware will update automatically. Then wait until it says completed.

I have the same problem, where can I get the firmware file from? I tried looking online but no luck.

Screwdriver, what problem are you having. No one will share but I can't imagine this rudimentary machine needing firmware

Everytime I turn on the Printer, it displays Kyocera and thats it...it will just be like that for as long as it is on. I read somewhere here that you should upgrade the firmware using a SD card...so I got a card but can't find the firmware anywhere online.

dont worry about firmware...its now a papwer weight... most likely the main board is shot which will cost more than the machine is worth

Had a couple of these it is either the main board or the memory. Try the memory stick first

                    Sorry ..... KDA is the U S location .

I should have said " Go to your KM site ... ( for your location ) ... then you can log-in using the password you have as being a certified KM tech . " and download from there .

If the CS/KM-1820 cannot boot most likely the firmware is corrupt. You may possibly order the F-Dimm from KDA, Also the Flash IC on the main board could be corrupt. This would require a Main board repair. There are a couplr of repair centers that should be able to repair this board.

I did install the firmware into the flash card and installed it on the board, turned it on and left it there for an hour and nothing happened. So am guessing I have to change a board or something. Does anyone know exactly which board I shall exchange and where I can buy it from?

In one of your previous responses, you mentioned using a SD card... You would need to use a CompactFlash card, not SD. Where did you get the firmware from?

oh, sorry I used a compact flash card not sd card. I bought the Firmware from "justmanauls", the guy selling service manuals on here.
