    CS-620 Jam 10

Just had to post this as it is a really weird problem. We just put out a new CS-620 about 2 weeks ago. It has about 4000 copies on it. It is only used as a copier: no print, scan or fax. Went out there on a call yesterday for jam 10, ONLY when someone tries to "reserve next copy" when a job is running. You walk up when the machine is running and hit reserve next copy tab, put your originals in the feeder and hit start. The machine is defaulted to drawer 1. Just after the last original is ejected from the feeder, the machine will stop and show jam 10. If you clear the jam and hit continue, everything runs fine. If you default to another drawer, it runs fine. I reloaded firmware, and checked all settings against an identical machine down the hall. All settings are the same, and the other machine works fine on the same function. Anyone heard of this?

This sounds like the sort of problem that would be fixed by firmware.

The most current firmware is dated 5-14-10:
    Main (IPU): P2KPS010.7H0
    Engine: P2KPS011.1J1

There is also new Cassette PWB firmware. If I'm reading this correctly, you need to replace the cassette PWB to update this firmware (old part #: 302KP94161; new part #: 302KP94162). It does not specifically list your problem, but fixes several other jam related problems, including J25 jams.

Let me know how it goes. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
