    Copystar (taskalfa) 420i --- F357 Error Code

We have a Copystar 420i that threw off a code of F357 while copying. Machine sat there for a few minutes then proceeded to show "Turn machine off/on" Any idea what this code stands for? We also have a few F278's that show in the log...anything?

The CF357 hasn't made my list yet, but the CF278 is Energy Saving Manager.

You might guess that a firmware upgrade is recommended. Sorry, that's all the details I have. Let me know what you discover. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Figured out the 278's is thrown when you turn off the main switch without turning the little power switch off on the control panel first. Thats not a big deal but the other one is somewhat concerning...this machines having major duplex jamming issues with about 15k on the clock.

Thats good to know. It actually is a big deal when you need to replace the HDD's because of improper shut-down. Duplex jamming has been addressed with a bulletin #9035-2H7-0047. Pain in the ARSE.

Does this also apply to the Falcon IV? That bulletin is for the TASKalfa.

            Good to know. =^..^=

we'll check on that bulletin but i think the color models duplex is different than the BW model duplex. As far as the shutdown code its nice that they do have that

no, not this time. had failures before on the 3000 sheet paper tray. called tech support and got wonderful advice - try the main pwb or the hard drives or the dimm. so i'm going cheapest route with the dimm first and see what happens.

all they told me about the codes is that they are engineering codes. duh, i knew that. just tell me what they are pointing to.

thats what they told you to try in regards to that code? (F357) main pwb, hdd, or the dimm?

I'm fighting a CF278 code now.. Tech support was not helpful. It's as if they didn't want to tell me about CF 278 codes. Copies and faxes are fine. Print jobs are a problem..Did it once when I printed a status page. The copier will actually turn off and back on, then freeze up..Did hdd format and firmware. TA 300ci. Histoy showed 18 CF278 codes...For crying out loud
