What sort of scanning did you have in mind?
    Your options are:

    Push scanning:
scan to email: your doc becomes an attachment to an email
scan to SMB: Your doc goes to a share folder on your PC
scan to FTP: Your doc goes to a share folder on your PC

    Pull scanning:
TWAIN: Brings your doc into another application like Publisher

You will require a network connection to the scan card (and yes there are two separate network connections: scan & print).
If I can make a suggestion scan to SMB is typically the easiest to set up. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        1) Information Gathering-Collect the following information:
        a. Host Name of recipient PC: From the Start Menu > Run > cmd > OK > ipconfig/all > enter. At the top of the page note the Host Name (exact spelling/case sensitive, please).
        b. User Windows Login:
        c. User Windows Password:
        2) Create a folder to receive scans:
        a. Create a new folder on the root of the hard drive: C:\scans (any name is OK but name must be spelled exactly the same in all uses).
        b. Share the folder: Right-click the folder icon then drop to Sharing & Security & left-click > radio button Share This Folder > left-click Permissions > Everyone > checkmark Full Control > Apply > OK > Apply > OK.
        3) From your browser access the MFPs webpage:
        a. On the address line of the browser enter the IP address of the Scan Card, then
        Go.
        b. Select "Scan to SMB" Destination List > 001 > fill in folder owner’s name as you would like it to appear on the MFP display (“Joe’s Folder”) >

        > Host Name (see above 1a) > Login (see above 1b) > Password (see above 1c) > Path (see above 2a, Note: enter as ‘scans’ not ‘C:\scans’
        d. Click Submit at the bottom of the page. You’re done!
        4) Potential trouble areas:
        a. DHCP must be OFF on the MFP.
        b. An IP address can be substituted for the Host Name when the PC has a static IP.
        c. Windows login/password must be accurate. There must be a valid login & password. In situations where the login is causing a problem with connecting to the PC a new login/password can be created just to receive scans. That login does not need to be open at the time.
        d. Folder must be in the root directory. Sharing must be ON, with permissions at Full Control.
        e. Port 139 or port 445 (either can be used) must be open on the server.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

If you don't see "Scan to SMB" on the web page you may have to do two things:

Upgrade the NS30 firmware above version 1.4.02 (currently is at 1.4.11).
Scan to SMB may need to be turned On in Sim U512.

With NIC firmware 1.4.11 SMB is available.

I think SMB was added to only the 6030/8030 and Voyager (C3232 etc.). According to the firmware release notes, anyway.

Which leaves Scan to SFU, so I'll paste in my huge list of steps for it: (for WinXP, meant for desktops with DHCP)
                1. The Scanner File Utility
                  1. Download the Scanner File Utility
                  2. Install the Scanner File Utility
                  3. Add the Scanner File Utility to the Windows Firewall
                  4. Configure the Scanner File Utility

                2. Pointing the copier to the computer
                3. Test

                    Tks a lot All.

                    I am making progress.

However, i am getting stuck at:

                    1) when I try to access the scanner website by browing the IP, I only see printer setup information. No scanner setup information at all.
                    2) I was able to register user information by going thru the display pad of the copier by setting up user name, password, IP.
                    3) When I try to use the any of following functions, I got "Unable to use scanner":
                    a) Scan to PC
                    b) Defaultsetting----scanner default setting---system basic

                    Continued Helps Pls.

Could it be that you have connected to the printer NIC card, but not the scanner NIC card? If it has both options there will be to RJ45 connections. =^..^=
